. Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo. Built in 645, it is the oldest and most recognizable in Tokyo. Sensoji Temple is a popular destination for both locals and tourists as it exudes the nostalgia of the Edo period. There is plenty to see and do from Kaminari-mon, the Five-storied Pagoda to the unique specialty street of Nakamise-dori Street, a traditional shopping street leading to Asakusa
. The Rainbow Bridge connects the artificial island of Odaiba with the mainland. Odaiba is a scenic neighborhood with activities that easily fill a weekend of entertainment. . Hakone Shrine. Built in 757, The shrine is a holy place of common people’s faith and boasts beautiful scenery with rows of cedar trees over 600 years old and Himeshara Pure Forest, a natural monument of Kanagawa Prefecture.
. Onshi-Hakone-Koen Park, a park spread out on the site of the former Hakone Villa(Imperial Summer Palace). It has a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashinoko, and was selected as one of Kanagawa's Top 50 Scenic Spots.

Tour of Hakone
. Hakone Sekisho. In order to defend Edo (present-day Tokyo), the Tokugawa shogun (referred to as a general) established 53 sekisho (gates/checkpoint facilities) at major gateways throughout the country. Among them, Hakone Sekisho was large in scale and considered an important gateway.
. Ashinoko Lake Cruise, a cobalt-blue crater lake famous for the exquisite view of Mt. Fuji. Sightseeing boats travel to the best viewing points.
. Hakone Ropeway. Head to the Soun-zan where the top of Hakone's funicular railway meets the Hakone Ropeway for aerial journeys over Ashinoko Lake and Owakudani to enjoy the amazing natural scenery.
. Owakudani(Great Boiling Valley), which was created as a result of a major eruption about 3,000 years ago, is still actively emitting sulfur gas and is a volcanic valley with hot springs. Taste onsen kuro tamago(black eggs) boiled in the smelly hydrogen sulfide steams and hot water.

Move to Tokyo
. Take a tour of Shinjuku and Ginza. . Kobe Earthquake Memorial Park. The park commemorates the 6434 lives lost in the Great Hanshin Earthquake. The memorial preserves a section of twisted dock left as it was after that devastating day.

Move to Kyoto(1 hour ride), a capital of a thousand years
. Kiyomizu-dera. Built in 198 and part of the Hosso school of Buddhism, it is one of the most popular and most enjoyable temples and represents the favored expression of faith in Japan. Enjoy the soaring city views from the Hondo(Main Hall) on top of the hill.
. Sannen-saka and Ninen-zaka. Stroll the pretty streets full of traditional shops.
. Kinkaku-ji Temple. Once a villa retreat of Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimasa in 15th century, the temple is one of Kyoto's premier temples with its sumptuous gardens and elegant structures.

Move to Arashiyama and take a tour of the city
. Togetsu-kyo. The tour in Arashiyama starts near Togetsu-kyo, the bridge over the Katsura-gawa River.
. Chikurin(Bamboo Grove). Visit Japan's most famous bamboo grove and one of Japan's most photographed spots. Thick, green stalks seem to continue endlessly in every direction, and there's an ethereal quality to the light.
. Nonomiya Shrine. A small shrine located near the famous temple Tenryū-ji, Nonomiya Shrine is surrounded on all sides by the chikurin, Arashiyama’s beautiful bamboo forest. Despite its small size, the shrine has a lengthy history, founded in antiquity as a purification shrine for imperial princesses appointed as priestesses for Ise Shrine.

The bronze statue is housed in Daibutsu-den(Hall of Great Buddha) which is one the world's largest all-wood buildings.
. Nara Park, one of the must-see areas in Nara City. The vast area covers 660 hectares and is renowned for its free-roaming deer and world-famous temples. Feeding the deer is an attraction in itself and special crackers are on sale all around the park.

Move to Beppu (1.5 hour ride) and take a tour of the city
. Tour of Kamado Jigoku. It is one of the Beppu hot spring tour courses in Oita Prefecture, which boasts the highest hot spring volume in Japan. Kamado Jigoku's name comes from the fact that rice to be placed on the altar during the ancestral rites of Kamado Hachimanku, the guardian deity of the town, was cooked using 98℃ steam from the hot springs. There are also hells 1 to 6 and various attractions, and you can enjoy various hells in one place.
. Alum Hot Springs, the flower of hot springs, where Yudohana is grown. Yudohana means hot spring flower and refers to sulfur in Japanese. Alum Hot Springs is a place where sulfur is grown and where you can learn how to make sulfur. The traditional harvesting method that has been used since the Edo period 300 years ago has been preserved and is designated as an important intangible folk cultural asset. This is a place where sulfur is collected, made into bath salts, and sold. The interior is designed like a park, and you can enjoy open-air baths and family baths.

Move to Yofuin and take a tour of the city
. A tour of the mysterious atmosphere of Ginrin Lake with mist rising above the water surface. Fresh water and hot springs flow into the lake, and the water temperature is high througout the year, creating a beautiful phenomenum of steam rising from the surface early on winter mornings. It name came from a Confucian scholar who spotted a gold-scale fish in the waters around the sunset one day.
. Yufuin Folk Art Village Street Tour. You can watch demonstrations at the Folk Craft Museum, which houses folk crafts from the late Edo period to the Meiji period, the Handmade Japanese Paper Workshop, and the Folk Glass Workshop, and experience pottery and fabric dyeing. (Paid) There is a restaurant and tea house, so it is a great place to rest after the tour. It is a stop for the tourist bus "Scarborough" and one of the tourist attractions in Yufuin.

. Tour of Daikanbo Overlook, a peak of the northern outer rim of Mt. Uchinomaki onsen, located northeast of the hot springs. It is the best view spot in Aso where you can enjoy a 360-degree panorama, and you can see Aso Town, Aso Gogaku, and Mt. Kuju. The Aso Gogaku seen from Daikanbo is called "Nirvana-zo" because it looks like the Buddha is lying down, and in fall and winter, you can see a mysterious sea of clouds. There are also gift shops and restaurants, and it is also popular as an astronomical observation spot.

Tour of Fukuoka
. Dazaifu Tenmangu, a Shinto shrine in Dazaifu, Fukuoka. It is built over the grave of Sugawara no Michizane (845–903)(a gifted student who composed many poems dedicated to his favorite plum trees) and is one of the main shrines dedicated to Tenjin, the deified form of Michizane. The shrine's precinct spans over 3,000 acres (12 km2) and includes several structures. Its honden, or main shrine, was first built by Yasuyuki Umasake in 905, two years after the death of Michizane. A larger structure was constructed by the Fujiwara clan in 919 but was destroyed in a fire during a civil war. The Momoyama-style shrine visitors see today dates from 1591[2] and is an Important Cultural Property. The grounds also contain two ponds, a bridge and a treasure house. The shrine is also known for its 6,000 ume (Asian plum) trees belonging to 167 varieties.
. Canal City Hakata. It is a large shopping and entertainment complex in Fukuoka, Japan. Called the "city within the city," it hosts shops, cafes, restaurants, a theater, a game center, cinemas, two hotels, and a canal, that runs through the complex.
